In 1970, our California-based parents fell in love with a little patch of Southport Island and named their new summer cottage “Camelot,” after the movie they loved and the feeling they found here. Five decades later, the pine needles still crunch underfoot, the wraparound deck still welcomes slow mornings, the ocean is just visible through the trees, and sometimes you’ll catch fireflies at night — in other words, it’s always felt a little enchanted here.
